Brilliant! We loved our dinner here! We were lucky to get a last minute booking whilst passing through Hobart - so glad we did! The restaurant has a great vibe, small and intimate. And the staff were so welcoming and helpful (even gave us tips for where to go on our trip!). My dietary requirements were accommodated without a fuss and all the food was delicious. Great value and wonderful all round experience - highly recommend!
We had four course lunch and the food was absolutely stunning. Each meal was well thought out, simple and flavorful, and the flavours are memorable. The risotto is sublime. It was delicious. The price was reasonable too given the high standard and quality of both food and hospitality. Standing ovation to the team at Templo. Highly recommend if you are coming to Hobart for hols - make sure you reserve a place to avoid disappointment on the day.
Reservations only. They only serve two settings a night with their 6 course meal. Great for celebrating special occasions. We were there for our 12 years anniversary and our minion’s 10 year-old birthday. Some of the food was a bit too sophisticated for the kid, but they certainly were delights for the grownups! We had a great time! Make sure you mark this place for your next special occasion.

Great little place in Hobart with a changing seasonal menu. We decided to select our own courses instead of the set menu. The prawn pasta being the stand out. Booking is a must we sat at the bar. Tables of two seem to sit at the communal table. Booking for the earlier sitting and didn’t feel rushed at all. Plenty of time to enjoy our meal.
Don't really understand the negative reviews for this place. We were welcomed in despite being 15 minutes early. Service was so warm and friendly. The French waitress recommended excellent wines based on the courses plus our own personal tastes. We were full after 5 courses and took dessert home. The pacing was excellent, we never felt rushed but were never waiting either. We felt watched, but in a good way. When we were deep in conversation and wanted a break, we got one, when we were ready for food, it appeared. And the food was excellent. Lovely oysters. Delicious bread and pickles. The kingfish was so fresh. The pasta was incredible. Duck, perfectly cooked. Dessert we took home, but was light and perfectly balanced. We were sat at the communal table. It can be a little loud if you're hard of hearing but it's not awkward. If you're more of a mind to just talk with who you came with that's ok. If you want more engagement with other guests you can have that too. Price is very reasonable for a 6 course meal of this quality. This is our second visit to Templo. Our first visit was 5 years ago but it's still serving excellent food and is well worth a visit.

Dined here on our recent trip to Hobart anticipating a wonderful culinary experience based on reviews we’d read … and we were truly delighted. Not only by the food, but by the atmosphere and the genuinely personable, attentive service we received from the entire team. We chose the Chef’s Menu and from the very first bite, we knew we were in for something special. It began with warm bread and the most delicious creamy butter, pickles and the most glorious little pockets of savoury, fluffy, donut-like goodness topped with thinly sliced salty beef — absolutely divine. Next came a creamy tuna tartare scooped up with crunchy tortilla-style crackers — this was a definite favourite. Then a stunning plate of mixed, fresh Tasmanian tomatoes bursting with colour and flavour, paired with creamy whipped burrata. The Campanelle Gorgonzola was nothing short of sublime. There was so much more to enjoy, and guess that’s the beauty of a chef’s menu, it’s their choice on the night, based on best Tasmanian fresh produce available. If you experience even half of the taste sensations we did, you will not be disappointed. Thank you to the whole team for such a memorable gastronomic experience — and the wine was equally delicious. We’ll absolutely be back.
Templo The perfect choice for our last night in Hobart — a full experience from start to finish. We went with the tasting menu with wine pairings, and it truly felt like an adventure. The space itself is small, charming, and effortlessly chic, with a warm, intimate vibe that makes you want to settle in and enjoy every course. Service was fantastic — friendly, relaxed, and genuinely engaging without missing a beat. We tried almost everything on the menu (skipping only the gnocco fritto), and the food was consistently delicious. The standout for me was the beetroot with stracciatella — beautifully balanced and memorable. The duck dishes were also excellent, and the burnt honey semifreddo to finish was a perfect ending. The wine pairings were thoughtful and largely local, complementing each course in a way that elevated the whole meal without overpowering it. Great food, great wine, great energy. An excellent experience — highly recommend!
A really exceptional dining experience, one which I thoroughly enjoyed. We want as a three to Templo and have only positive things to say. It’s a very small, intimate establishment and we had three seats at the ‘bar’, which were tight but comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly throughout, and also incredibly knowledgeable both regarding the drinks options but the food as well which really elevated the experience. The food itself was fantastic. One of the group is pescatarian but the options provided were lovely. We started with a nice plate of bread, cured meat and pickles before a lovely kingfish crude which was delicate yet flavorful. Next came a really earth carrot dish which was hearty and delicious. For the larger plates, the duck ragu packed a punch and the flat iron main was cooked to perfection. The menu finished off with a lovely lemon and pistachio ‘semi sando’ which was a great way to end. All in all, a fantastic dining experience. Even the timing of the meal was great. They typically do two seatings 2.5 hrs apart, and the timing between the dishes never left you wondering when the next one was coming.
